Cambridge Old Post Office Party

Join us July 6th for the Old Post Office Party! – We’re incredibly excited and honored to be a part of this innovative project that continues to solidify the strong and wonderful community we have here in Cambridge. 6 years ago, when we first decided to take a chance and create Monigram, we never imagined the level of love and support we’ve received from our customers and the community alike.

From the beginning we have always known that nothing is accomplished alone and for that we want to say thank you, to each and every one of you, for supporting our efforts and allowing us to grow. Because of you and this welcoming community, we will be able to continue to do what we love and continue to serve up our uncompromising quality coffee and food in our new café space located on the Main Floor Heritage Reading Room of the new Idea Exchange at the Old Post Office. While we will be busy with running the day-to-day of both spaces, we will ensure that we’re still around to say hello! We’re looking forward to celebrating with you all. Thanks again from the Monigram family!

Cambridge’s much talked-about new digital library will be hitting the play button with an opening-night kickoff celebration July 6 that will include everything from high-tech digital displays to music and dancing.

City and Idea Exchange library officials are teaming up to officially open the new library on Water Street South, at the site of Galt’s old post office.

A section of Water Street will be closed for the launch event, which will run from 6 to 10 p.m., with festivities spilling out onto the street. There will be live music, a family dance party, tech activities, a “maker space” and a creative studio space. The evening will also include talks and activities on robot hacking, mobile arcades, a story station and creative crafts.

Entertainer Erick Traplin will kick off the evening on the outdoor stage, followed by music and dance performances, including local artists Rufus John and Momma’s Kitchen. Headlining the night will be hometown brother-sister country duo, The Reklaws.

The evening will come to a close with a one-of-a-kind digital projection display that will illuminate the exterior of the building, starting at about 9:45 p.m.

Food and drinks will also be available for purchase at a craft beer garden and barbecue station hosted by Thirteen Food and Beverage.

The library will be open for guided tours on July 6, and the public is invited to get their free tour tickets online athttps://bit.ly/2I2qJWS  Limited tickets will also be available at the door during the event.
